These Maple Leaf buttons are individually made by hand from Canadian porcelain clay on Vancouver Island. After we form them from raw porcelain clay, the buttons are fired in our kiln to 2300F (stoneware hardness). They are not affected by water or detergent as the colours are glaze that has been permanently fired into the clay. Porcelain is pretty durable but not quite as tough as plastic. For washing, we recommend buttoning up your garment and turning it inside out during washing or handwashing, particularly for large buttons (over 1 inch - 25mm).

They are available in 6 sizes (1/2 inch (13mm), 5/8 inch (16mm), 3/4 inch (19mm), 1 inch (25mm), 1.25 inch (32mm), 1.5 inch (39mm) and many colours (many more than shown in the photos - see list below).
